RN to MSN and BSN to MSN Programs

Known for its large swaths of ranches and small overall population, Wyoming has a few universities based in the state that offer standard MSN degrees. However, dedicated nurses can go online to find higher education institutions that will allow them to complete a bridge program (RN to MSN or BSN to MSN). Before enrolling in such an educational program, students should verify residency requirements to make sure the program is valid in the state where they will likely work. The majority of these online bridge programs, which are known for their flexibility, prepare graduates for careers in nursing education, administration or leadership.

Typical Program Length:

  • At least 2 years of full-time study for an RN to MSN
  • At least 14 months of full-time study for a BSN to MSN

Typical Admissions Requirements:

  • ADN or BSN from an accredited university (degree level may vary by program)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Possible prerequisites (science or statistics coursework)
  • Current license as an RN
  • At least one year of clinical experience
  • Resume and letters of recommendation
