RN to MSN and BSN to MSN Programs

Traditional New Mexico universities offer a range of standard MSN programs (non-bridge options) in on-campus as well as online or blended formats. Many of these programs are designed to be compatible with nurses’ busy work and family schedules. Though universities in the state do not yet offer bridge programs (RN to MSN and BSN to MSN), New Mexico resident nurses can take advantage of offerings from online-only universities. Such established and credentialed schools allow students to complete their in-person clinical experiences at locations near their home or work.

Typical Program Length:

  • Approximately 6 full-time semesters for an RN to MSN
  • 4 full-time semesters for a BSN to MSN

Typical Admissions Requirements:

  • ADN or BSN from an accredited university (degree level may vary by program)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Active license as an RN in New Mexico
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience
  • Three letters of reference and a letter of intent
